What else you should know.........

buddeln008If you consider to purchase a Norfolk terrier, please, do not forget to buy a sturdy leash as well as Norfolks are extremely curious little fellows that feel compelled to investigate everything. They do not even hesitate to stop cars or trip up joggers. At the same time, you should check your fences as 80 centimeters are a simple matter for a young and dynamic Norfolk. Even if it doesn’t manage to jump it, it might try to tunnel it.

fettsack010With respect to food, you should be careful: Norfolks are little greedyguts that put on weight easily. Moreover, they even eat things you wouldn’t consider to be food in your wildest dreams. So, please, be attentive when you roam the open countryside with your dog, there might be something interesting but indigestible or even poisonous lying around. We use so-called tow leashes  that are 5 to 10 meters long. Our dogs drag them along and we have the possibility to influence their behaviour, just in case. This way, they enjoy a great freedom to move around, and nobody complains about dogs running unleashed.

Finally, you should be aware that Norfolks aren’t just sofa cushions but they are great chaps for long walks. If you do justice to their need of exercise, you will have a friend for life.
